Dutch-made roof greenhouse in China reaches highest point

In Beijing, the entrance building for the Agricultural Innovation Park has reached its highest point. The entrance building was designed by a Dutch architectural firm.

With 3,500 m2 spread over three floors, it will be the educational center for urban horticulture in Beijing and the rest of China. Together with greenhouse builder Ammerlaan Construction, Van Bergen Kolpa Architecten designed a building with a slender steel structure that overlooks the city and the campus of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences along Beijing's 3rd Ring Road.

In the building, researchers, growers and the public can learn about the latest techniques in vegetable and ornamental cultivation. Surrounding the building's central public hall are three floors of vertical leaf vegetable and fruit vegetable cultivation, ornamental cultivation, and a roof garden for trees and plants. The whole forms a department store of green solutions for the city.

The Agri Garden building will open its doors in early 2023.
