PARperfect solution offers superior screen coordination and light uniformity
One of Svensson’s solutions on display at the conference is PARperfect, an innovative screen solution that ensures uniform light levels at the canopy level by coordinating two screens according to setpoints in the climate computer. As multiple light sensors in the greenhouse report the light intensity both in terms of W/m2 and mol/m2/s, the climate computer then calculates the perfect screen configuration required to meet the setpoint set by the grower. PARperfect uses a combination of screens, one of which is the Harmony 2047, which has a Hortiscatter value of 85%, giving it the highest diffusion value available and ensuring that light uniformity is maximized in the greenhouse. Gone with the bright pockets, gone with the shade pockets - all plants receive the same amount of light.
The entire line of Harmony screens provides high-grade light diffusion, and higher-shade Harmony screens can be used in conjunction with the Harmony 2047 for PARperfect. Light abatement curtains, such as the Obscura line, can also be coupled with Harmony 2047 to allow growers to finetune the natural light levels reaching the crop.
“We have seen incredible results with PARperfect. As the natural light intensity shifts, the two screens move in tandem according to setpoints in the climate computer. This is especially useful for plants that require shading, such as transplants,” explains Dustin.
Svensson offers an eco-friendly option in the Luxous family
Aside from PARperfect, Svensson’s research & development team in Sweden has been working hard to bring new screening options to the market, including Luxous 1147 Eco FR, an eco-friendly option that is made with 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. The Luxous 1147 Eco FR screen offers the same light transmission properties, quality, and performance as the original, industry-leading Luxous 1147 FR. Svensson has also introduced H2no technology to its Luxous 1147 FR screens to reduce condensation droplets from forming on the climate screen and to help maintain maximum light transmission.
The Svensson team is also eager to meet with conference attendees to discuss the company’s energy calculator, which is a unique tool that uses data from the greenhouse climate computer and the actual geographical location to simulate the potential savings from different screening systems and options. The Svensson consultant who manages the energy calculator will be on-site to explain the tool and can even do on-site demonstrations if the growers provide the applicable data.
