Les Crudettes: French herbs grown without pesticides in a new 7,000 m² greenhouse

During a press conference, the LSDH group communicated its ambitions and recent investments in favor of healthy food and more sustainable production. It was also the opportunity to reveal this year’s innovation: to grow 100% French herbs without pesticides in a greenhouse of the future.

Aromatic herbs without pesticides, 100% made in France
In this new greenhouse of 7,000 m², whose construction began at the end of January on the La Laiterie site in Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel, no less than 70 tons of aromatic herbs will be grown each year with a water saving of nearly 97%.

Produced from the summer of 2022 thanks to an automated mobile aeroponics system, the herbs will be on the market from September.

Relocating the production
An investment that will also help relocate the production in France, while it currently comes mostly from Spain, Israel, Kenya or Morocco.”
