Ethiopia's six-month horticulture earnings have increased by 20% to $286 million compared to last year's export performance, the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) announced.
The $286 million has been obtained from the export of cut flowers, vegetables and herbs, and fruits, EHPEA noted. Out of this, $246.4 million has been secured from the export of cut flowers, $31.09 million from vegetables and herbs, and $9.04 million from fruits.
The achievement exceeds the horticulture export earnings target of $269.01 set for the period by 12 percent. Moreover, it has shown an increase of 20 percent, compared to the six-month earnings of $239.6 million the previous year according to www.2merkato.com
