The European Commission will have 185.9 million euro for the promotion of agri-food products both within and outside the EU in 2022. This is slightly higher than the 182.9 million euro it had in 2021, the bulk of which was allocated to co-finance promotional campaigns presented by sector organizations of the member states.
According to the European Commission, “next year's promotion policy work program focuses on agricultural products and practices that support the objectives of the European Green Deal, such as organic products, fruit and vegetables, sustainable agriculture, and EU animal welfare.”
The calls for proposals for the next specific campaigns in 2022 will be published at the beginning of that year. Professional organizations, producer organizations, and agri-food groups responsible for promotional activities, among others, may request funding and present their proposals. The projects will be evaluated taking into consideration the climate and environmental objectives of the CAP, the European Green Deal, and the 'Farm to fork' strategy, in particular the sustainability of production and consumption.
The approved programs will be developed for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years.
