PCR plant pots Circular360 from Pöppelmann TEKU® with Blue Angel environmental seal:

"Blue pot gives high recognition value among customers and consumers"

Pöppelmann TEKU® supports companies from the horticultural sector in their commitment to greater sustainability with plant pots from the Circular360 category. The horticultural company Frank Felten from Menden, a long-time customer of Pöppelmann TEKU, completely converted its range to the recyclable plant pots made of 100 percent PCR in the plastic used.

PCR plant pots Circular360 - Blue Angel included
Pöppelmann TEKU sets the new standard: with the various categories of recyclability of the TEKU product range, users from the horticultural sector receive clear information about the origin of the material used and the recyclability of the products. The highest category, Circular360, includes resource-saving plant pots made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled material in the plastic used, which comes from household recycling collections.

The plant pots are 100 percent recyclable after use - thus closing the material cycle. For this, the plant pots in the Circular360 category have been awarded the renowned Blue Angel environmental label. Customers of Pöppelmann TEKU from the commercial horticulture sector use the environmental label in communicating their environmental commitment and thus offer consumers who consciously act sustainably a real incentive to buy - including the horticultural company Frank Felten from Menden in the Sauerland region.

Bright blue pots for good recognition
The company is an early adopter of the resource-saving Circular360 round pots. Owner Frank Felten became aware of the products directly during the presentation of the circular plant pots at IPM, the world's leading trade fair for horticulture in Essen, Germany, in 2018. Since he found that nothing would change in his operational processes and that the new pots could be processed on his machines just as well as before, he has been sourcing all the TEKU round pots used from the VCG 9, 10, 12 and 13 series in the resource-saving PCR material.

As a representative of the so-called green industry, it is important to him to live and carry on the environmental idea. Among other things, his company is supplied with 42 percent of its own electricity. In marketing his products, he is also supported by the renowned Blue Angel eco-label, with which TEKU products are certified. Frank Felten believes that plastic is an indispensable material for many applications, such as the plant pots in his business, but that it must be handled with care: "If the plastic flows completely back into the cycle, as in the case of the Circular360 pots, there is nothing at all wrong with the material. I'm totally behind the idea of Pöppelmann TEKU and have experienced it myself: if you explain this concept to your customers in detail, they are willing to pay a premium price for the pots without any problems."

In the meantime, according to Felten, these products are even explicitly demanded by some customers. "That's why I also stick with the bright blue pots, even though PCR plant pots are now available in many colors: That gives me a high recognition value among customers."
