Marc van Oers, Director of Innovations at Van Iperen International, has been in charge of presenting GreenSwitch® to GreenTech's jury panel. "In the last years, agriculture is facing the dawn of a fascinating revolution. As a changemaker, Van Iperen International is determined to enhance agricultural productivity in a sustainable way with innovative projects such as GreenSwitch®. This is not the only accomplishment of GreenSwitch® recently. In June 2021, the GreenSwitch® project won the Innovation Award 2021 from HortiContact, the Horticulture reference in the Netherlands. This prize had groundbreaking consequences as Dutch horticulture is recognized as the most innovative in the world.
GreenSwitch®Original is the first Nitrate fertilizer from an organic source. It is a pure, crystal clear liquid formulation suitable for high-tech greenhouses and any open field fertigation or foliar application in
fruit, vegetables, and ornamentals. GreenSwitch® project is based on a circular economy model, a close to zero Carbon footprint, and a reduction of Nitrogen emission.
The jury legitimated their decision with the following reasoning:
• "Fertilization made easy with a big contribution to a circular economy."
• "We appreciated the systems approach that GreenSwitch takes by tying together different actors in the food and energy supply."
• "Potential for worldwide application."
• "Interesting principle for extraction of other nutrients (from other sources) in the future."
Van Iperen International is currently working on the registration of GreenSwitch® Original as suitable fertilizer in sustainable and organic farming around the world.
