Trias Westland growers temporarily dependant on other heat sources

The investigation into the brief fire at Trias Westland geothermal project on Friday, September 10, has yet to be completed. Ahead of the completion of the investigation, it is suspected that a water pressure effect in the pipe was the root cause causing the pipe to fail, Trias Westland shares in an update.

The full investigation results, which will be completed by the end of next week, will have to lead to a decision on how to proceed with the remedial work, any technical modifications that may be required, and/or adjustments in procedures.

The recovery plan will first be checked by the regulator (SSM). Once the damage has been repaired, the entire installation (or part of it) can be put back into operation after inspection and approval by the supervisor.

The heat supply will be out of operation for at least a few weeks. After next week more will be known about the expectation when the heat can be delivered again. Trias Westland is in contact with the connected horticultural businesses about this. The entrepreneurs are now temporarily using other heat sources.
