As of 22 September, vaccinated travelers from so-called high-risk countries such as the US and the UK will no longer have to self-quarantine when visiting the Netherlands and as of 25 September, it will no longer be mandatory to keep a 1.5-meter distance. The Dutch government announced these rules yesterday. The relaxations come just in time for GreenTech Live & Online, which will take place from 28 to 30 September in the RAI in Amsterdam. "It is time to reconnect," says Mariska Dreschler, Director Horticulture at the fair.

In recent years, GreenTech Amsterdam has become one of the most important events in international horticulture. With this year's GreenTech Live & Online, the organization is offering the horticultural industry the chance to still meet each other both digitally and physically. And the latter is given an extra push by the relaxed corona rules, Mariska explains. As of September 22nd, travellers from the United States, the United Kingdom and other very high-risk areas no longer have to self-quarantine on arrival in the Netherlands when they are fully vaccinated with an EU-approved vaccin. "The lifting of the self-quarantine rule will make it much easier for British and American visitors to visit the fair. We look forward to welcoming them."
The organisation emphasises the importance of meeting physically and explains that their digital platform is a way to strengthen the power of meeting physically. "It is time to meet again and we are looking forward to GreenTech Live & Online immensely."
At the same time, the event will of course be different from other years. "The set-up is different," says Mariska. Over 90 exhibitors will present themselves at the show. By offering standard stand construction, the number of movements on the exhibition floor has been minimised. This makes it a smaller version of the fair that has been held in recent years. "At the same time, we see that it is also a more concentrated variant. The F1 of horticulture will be present in Amsterdam from 28-30 September. Their presence is combined with an excellent program on our Vision Stage and the Xpert Theatre, it will be the moment for international horticulture to reconnect, in a safe and welcoming environment."
