Whether it’s designing packaging for sustainability or keeping the growers, packers, and distributors aware of the fast-evolving packaging legislation, Stockport-based packaging manufacturer Macpac has launched a dedicated campaign delivering a personalized and key sustainability message to their customers as it continues to drive to deliver environmentally sustainable packaging solutions.
Customized newsletters will explore the changing packaging legislation policies and how these could affect companies’ operations. The company says that other matters will be discussed such as designing for sustainability meeting the exacting standards that will be required of packaging in terms of recycled content, the right choice of material, and weight.
The newsletter will cover such imminent new legislation as Extended Producer Responsibility or EPR, the Plastic Packaging Tax coming next April applying to plastic packaging that does not contain at least 30% recycled plastic, (Macpac assert that their packaging has a minimum of 80% recycled content). Other aspects covered will be the Deposit Return Scheme (DR) and increasing consistency in the curbside collection.
Macpac says that no one is doing what they are doing – going the extra mile with a dedicated section on their website covering designing packaging for sustainability and offering advice on the best choice of materials to empower customers to propose the best possible solutions to their clients.
