2021 aquaponics conference goes virtual-only

Amidst membership concerns about COVID-19, the Aquaponics Association has canceled the in-person programming of the 2021 Aquaponics Conference. The conference, which was planned to be a hybrid event hosted in Oklahoma City, will now occur in an online-only format during the original dates of Oct. 21-24, 2021.

Aquaponics Association members have voiced several concerns about travel restrictions and safety concerns due to the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

“Several long-time and new members have reached out to us about travel lockdowns and questions about safety,” said Board Chairman Brian Filipowich, “And after careful consideration for their input and the current data, we have made the difficult decision to move ahead with a virtual-only event. We hope to be in-person in Oklahoma City for our 2022 conference.”

The Association will host this year’s conference on an interactive virtual meeting and event platform. Tickets for the virtual conference are available to purchase now on the website. Conference attendees who have purchased tickets for the in-person conference will be contacted for a refund.
