Belchim Crop Protection acquired by Japanese company

Mitsui & Co. has completed its acquisition of Belchim Crop Protection following the transfer of the remaining 32% of shares held by Belchim Management NV/SA. Mitsui’s holding in Belchim Crop
Protection is 62%, alongside ISK and Mitsui Chemicals Agro.

Hidetoshi Nakamura, Managing Director of Mitsui AgriScience International stated, “Mitsui AgriScience group is pleased to have completed the acquisition of 62% shares in Belchim Crop Protection, as planned. With this new shareholding structure, we will further accelerate the integration of BCP with Mitsui AgriScience group and enhance its value with the other group companies for all stakeholders”.

Mark Waltham, CEO of both Belchim Crop Protection and Mitsui’s European subsidiary Certis Europe, commented: “The completion of this deal allows Mitsui to focus on its objective to build a sustainable crop protection business in Europe.
