How do you bridge a space of more than 9 meters between your newest greenhouse and an older one with a roof washer? Pepper grower Twin Creeks recently faced that question. Tom Zwanenburg of Van der Waay offered a solution with a platform specially built for the situation.
"The platform measures more than 43m2," says Tom Zwanenburg, Sales Manager at Van der Waay on the website of greenhouse builder Havecon. They are used to very large greenhouses, but the 'large living room sized' platform nevertheless makes a great impression, also more than four times the size of a standard platform.
Tom explains further. “The platform called Topcleaner is equipped with a lifting table with a turntable on which the roof washer stands. After washing a greenhouse, the roof washer is lifted and turned 180 degrees.”
Upon arrival in Canada, grower Mike assembled it himself and had the colossus hoisted to the greenhouse roof under his own management. The grower says he is once again impressed by the ingenuity and inventiveness of the Dutch: “Whether it concerns the construction of a high-tech greenhouse or an exceptional platform for cleaning my greenhouse decks, the Dutch don't shy away from anything. That's why I enjoy working with them so much. ”
