Green plums produced in greenhouses in the villages of the Goksu Valley in the Silifke district of Mersinare were recently harvested and sold as out-of-season products. Because the products are out of season, they continue to delight their customer with its price of 18 USD per kg. The harvested plums are placed in 100-gram packages and sent to Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. They are also exported to Russia, Germany, and the Netherlands. Greenhouse green plum growers expressed that they are satisfied with the prices and sales.
Greenhouse plum grower Murat Temur: "We have about 20 hectares of greenhouses. We expect a harvest of around 200 tons from here. In the open field, the harvest will start in the first week of April. We have started selling it for 30 USD per kg and now it continues for 18 USD per kg which is definitely satisfactory for us."
