“We want to deliver the right variety to the right market”

“Our responsibility is to deliver the right variety to the right market,” says Ziya Yildiz, the recently appointed global manager of BioGrow Seed. “We collect seeds from the breeding companies and independent breeders and distribute these globally, according to growers requirements. This way we want to be the most sustainable seed supplier.”

Founded in 2001, the multinational company Biogrow Group committed itself to the vision of adding value to the global challenge of food production. To meet the challenge of sourcing sustainable quality varieties, they established BioGrow Seed. The company closes the distance between growers and breeders worldwide. “In Turkey for example we have very good breeding companies and independent seed breeders. Their varieties can be of great value for growers in other countries. That’s where BioGrow Seed comes in. We focus on collecting and distributing hybrid vegetable varieties according to grower requirements, supported through on farm trials under the conditions unique to that grower’s environment,” explains Ziya. “Our responsibility is to deliver the right variety to the right market. This is achieved through a wide network of secure partnerships with independent seed breeders and seed breeding companies."

BioGrow’s reach includes it’s branches in United States, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Australia, Brasil and now Turkey. Then there’s distributors all over the world. “In Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, but also Azerbadjan for example," Ziya sums up. “In the upcoming years we’re expanding to Eurasia as well: the Turkish republic, Balcans and also Northern Africa.”

He explains how growers have a lot in common and are learning by experience – something that’s part of the BioGrow offer too. “Innovative seed varieties and experience is why growers look favourably towards the Biogrow Seed line. The varieties in our portfolio are developed from practical experience coupled with dedicated R&D. This commitment to quality delivers a safer and smarter technological seed to assist farmers in sustainable and responsible stewardship of their land and Environment.”

“In the future we are looking to breed our own varieties, but for now our seed division aspires to become one of the world's most important sustainable seed suppliers, delivering the world's best seeds to growers around the world.”
