Bolivia's Cochabamba wholesale market in pictures

Paul van Groningen works at Greenfood Iberica in Span. This month he traveled to Bolivia. "It's a wonderful, beautiful country with fantastic people. I spent most of my time in Cochabamba, the third-largest city of Bolivia. It's the country's culinary capital. Naturally, I went to the local wholesale market. That's where the trucks arrive from the Chapare region," he says.

"That's a tropical area a few hours' drive from Cochabamba. Fruit is traded at that market. There are bananas of various varieties, colors, and sizes. As well as coconuts, pineapples, passion fruit, guanabanas, and so on. All kinds of tropical fruit, deliciously ripe." Paul, who's originally from the Netherland, took these photos.
