UltraClima climate technology applied in Lipetsk greenhouses

The Russian greenhouse company Eletskie Ovoschi in the Archangelsk region has started growing lettuce recently. Currently, they are planning to grow over 2 tons of lettuce of 3.5 ha with the application of UltraClima, a technology that enables the greenhouses to ensure the required microclimate all year round.

“The greenhouse is equipped with hydroponic techniques, drip irrigation, hanging gutters, a system of assimilation lighting, misting, and screens. Automated microclimate management allows achieve higher productivity at lower costs and enables a high quality produce”, shared the head of the regional Department for Agriculture, Mr. Oleg Dolgikh.

LLC GC Eletskie Ovoschi has been working on the greenhouse vegetable production project since 2016. The company is growing cucumbers on an acreage of 67 ha. Last year they collected over 75 thousand tons of produce. Overall, upon the results of 2020, regional producers collected 149 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables.  The Lipetsk region occupies a leading position in this sector in the Russian Federation. The contemporary greenhouses acreage has increased 20 times here within the past 6 years and new complexes are being constructed.
