New CGMMV resistance cucumber variety

The CGMMV has become a major threat worldwide. Last years DeRuiter constantly introduced varieties resistant to CGMMV, to support growers in their everyday work.

In coming summer-autumn cycle, cucumber growers will have more variety of choices. DeRuiter launches Georgia, the new cucumber for France, with complete resistance package: high resistance against powdery mildew and intermediate resistance against CGMMV. Georgia is suitable for traditional and high wire crops.

"Georgia delivers a high yield potential with one of the best behaviors with CGMMV in the market. The variety has friendly labor plant with a regular lateral shoot growth, and intermediate to strong vigor, well-suited for summer and autumn crops. With its good endurance, Georgia secures the production until the end of the crop," the team with DeRuiter says.

"In terms of fruits, Georgia has consistent high-quality fruits throughout the season, showing a nice green uniform color with an average fruit weight and length in line with market requirements."

Georgia completes the De Ruiter CGMMV portfolio. Georgia, Davida, Garpo: watch full range of CGMMV resistance varieties of DeRuiter.
