Plantlogic is a company that aims to constantly challenging itself to design and improve their pots to help customers achieve the best results.
"Our recent challenge has been improving our first-generation Zephyr pot. We have growers around the world getting great results with this pot, but we believe it can be even better! We considered what our field sales team learned from in-depth conversations with growers to challenge our design and production teams, re-thinking previous design and process limitations", the company is proud to announce.
Based on over two years’ design and production preparation work, they have rebuilt the Zephyr from the ground up. Special focus has been placed on providing conditions for uniform substrate humidity, draining without losing substrate, stabilization on soft ground and clean separation from the ground. The result — a new Zephyr V2.
Knowing the importance of healthy roots, the Zephyr V2 keeps the original Zephyr’s strongest features like the pyramid shape base, and isolating substrate from the ground, but does it even better. "With the Zephyr V2 we have increased the distance and airflow between the substrate to the ground, reduced the holes where substrate could fill leg holes and guide roots to the ground, increased stability to keep pots from sinking, increased the connection between the walls base to improve handling and other issues common with traditional “root control” pots".
What’s special about the Zephyr V2?
Firstly, the high legs of 7 cm preventing root contact with soil and pathogens, improving growers’ ability to steer the plants. Closed air spaces under pots just fill with roots and mold. Secondly, true separation between substrate and the ground – not the typical cups-for-legs that put the substrate in direct contact with the ground.
The connection between wall and base, is intended to give more stability to the pot when handling, whilst the tall base design prevents sinking into soft ground, by providing a large load-bearing surface area. The strong and stable pyramid was designed to maintain a consistent shape carefully guiding drainage where it should flow.
The increased airflow on sidewalls prevents root spiraling and improves root architecture. The sidewall has no holes in upper section and gradually more holes on lower area which helps make humidity even from the top to the bottom of the pot. This sidewall has been shaped with the design to prevent substrate from compacting, and slow down water fertigation flow on outside surfaces.
As the picture shows, the drainage holes do not allow substrate to fall through, but instead a narrow, carefully controlled drainage area around outside edges. This keeps even aggressive roots from growing down.
The Zephyr V2 is offered in volumes of 25, 30 and 40 liters, in white or black. The larger models are available upon request.
As the competition in the global berry market continues to increase, challenging growers reduce planting to harvest time, increase yields and extend productive years of plants, Plantlogic is committed to continuous innovation and improvement of our growing systems.
