China: Building a rural complex integrating modern agricultural and rural development

A modern and efficient agricultural industrial park in Dongying District is under construction in Niuzhuang-Shikou Rural Revitalization Demonstration Area (China). It is planned to cover an area of ​​over 666 hectares. Construction of the park started in December 2019.

The project involves construction of 6.3 kilometers of new roads and other infrastructure, at an investment of 130 million RMB [19.9 million USD]. It has a construction area of ​​over 333 hectares, attracting 15 agricultural industry, R&D, and supply chain projects, and projects such as a modern high-efficiency flower and vegetable seedling breeding center, vegetable solar greenhouse, agricultural management platform, Agricultural Automation Research Center, and National Vegetable Quality Standards Center Experimental Demonstration Base.

In this way, the area of facility agriculture has grown to 600,000 square meters. The project focuses on building an integrated system of planting and breeding, production, supply and marketing, trade, industry, and agriculture, and promotes the integration of industries, ecology, villages, and farmers, and the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries.

After the completion of the project, it will achieve an annual operating income of 700 million RMB [107 million USD] and a profit of 110 million RMB [16.8 million USD], and strive to build a rural complex that integrates modern agricultural and rural development.
