A good greenhouse tutor system helps save on resources

Operators know how expensive it can be to install a suitable tutor system in greenhouses: there are strings and ties everywhere and it takes a long time.

Alessandro Avarino, administrator of SIA Sia Sicilia Group Srl, the company that patented the effective greenhouse tutor system

And what about the time needed for disposal operations at the end of the cycle? Well, all this can now be avoided thanks to a patented system that makes plant tying easier and helps saving time. What is more, the system hastens disposal operations at the end of the production cycle.

Ideal Tutor was patented by SIA Sicilia Group and is attracting a lot of interest from producers precisely because it helps saving on labor and execution times. This invention even managed to cross the borders and is in demand from leading European producer countries.

The efficiency of this system became evident during lockdown, when labor lacked. Producers witnessed not only the technical soundness of the system, but also the fact that it reduces working hours while guaranteeing correct tying and favoring plant growth. Ideal Tutor also improves working conditions, as operators do not have to maintain awkward postures for a prolonged time.

Greenhouse plants are supported via nylon strings positioned according to the layout and to which plants are hooked. This is necessary to guarantee the regular development of plants, but it requires a lot of labor with significant production costs. What is more, further stabilization interventions are required.

Ideal Tutor is made up of a structure featuring polyethylene strings used to tie the most common vegetable plants: tomatoes, eggplants, bell peppers, etc. The system is very versatile and it is possible to adjust string size, distances, etc.

There are also various hooks available - simple or multiple. Reels enable to predetermine the height and distance between vertical strings. Two operators are needed to install it.

In order to meet the needs of crops where plant growth is not determined, the Ideal Tutor Dinamico system was developed. It is essentially the same solution, but it is equipped with a modular system to lower the height from 30 to 60 cm. The operation can be repeated multiple times, so the crop can keep growing.

This makes it possible to extend the life of the crop, making it more productive and without having to bear the cost of having to replant it.
