Positive tests followed up with high demand in truss supports and tomato clips

After extensive research for a high quality partner in the tomato clips and truss supports, Hortus (HSI) started three years ago with the final phase of the field tests. Randor Cena is the main contact regarding this product development and sales in the North, Mid and South American Market. Furthermore, he is supporting the European market with all the internationally acquired knowledge and results in the last three years. He’s been working at HSI for almost four years now and talks about the product tests and the results journey.

The company started testing the new products three years ago, together with their production partner and the growers using it in their greenhouse. “The test results were outstanding!”, he says, and the companies in Canada and the Netherlands that started the tests three years ago have been putting orders in since. “Starting September, we’ll start building up a bigger stock due to the high demand, meaning there will be plenty available around the crop change and during the whole year.”

The growers who tested the products say that the products are easy to work with due to the good clip mechanism, are satisfied how firmly the clip grabs onto the wire and positively amazed about the price quality ratio. The plastic has a good UV resistance and therefore a long lifespan. “The arches and clips come in four colours, white, transparent, black and terracotta. The products are available in 100% virgin polypropylene and recycled material. Next to our PP products we have biodegradable clips and truss supports in a very advanced stage of field tests at the moment. We already have the first BIO clips reservations for our customers. We are very excited with all the positive feedback.”
