Sipo invests in increasingly sought after products

A wider range of aromatic herbs, available all year round

25 gram packs with dedicated and eco-sustainable packaging, more products available and all year round supply: Sipo focuses on aromatic herbs, with a range of 28 varieties, to satisfy all types of customers.

Aromatic herbs.

"For the new packaging - explains Massimiliano Ceccarini, CEO of Sipo and Lorenzo Contò, head of the project - we chose recyclable materials instead of plastic. Ample space was given to paper material and the film is micro-perforated, so that in the stores the consumer can smell what he is about to buy. But this is only the tip of the iceberg".

Behind the new trays there is a very ambitious and articulated project. Customers ask companies like Sipo an all year round supply, and now the company is able to guarantee it with productions in Italy.

"There are three production areas: in Emilia Romagna from May to October, in Albenga and in the Piana del Sele (Salerno) in the coldest period. The majority of the spring and summer aromatic herbs are grown in the area close to our headquarters: from collection to packaging pass only a few minutes".

Lemon balm, tarragon, coriander, dill and lovage are some of the products that go alongside more tested products like parsley, rosemary, sage, bay leaf and thyme, just to name a few. There is also our line of hot pepper, of 4 different types: Ciliegia hot pepper, Cornetto, Habanero, Jalapeno.

"It is not easy to grow some aromatic herbs - says Contò - and one of the most complex parts of the project is to guarantee supplies all year round. We do this thanks to our specialized producers who collaborate with us, in addition to being located in three different areas".

The packaging is carried out in two different places, at the headquarters in the province of Rimini and in the Piana del Sele, so as to guarantee the freshness of the product for deliveries to central and northern Italy and to the south.

"We have been working with aromatic herbs for years - concludes Ceccarini - and this investment places us among the most specialized and structured companies in Italy in this sector".
