Hungary investing over 231 million Euro in modernization of agricultural and livestock sectors

The Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture is launching an HUF 80 billion (231.24 million Euro) investment program for farmers involved in animal husbandry and the horticultural sector, according to an MTI report.

Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced that HUF 50 billion (144.51 million Euro) will go to the livestock sector, while the other HUF 30 billion (86.7 million Euro) will be used to fund the construction and modernization of glass and film-covered greenhouses, the construction of fruit and vegetable cold storage facilities and the expansion and modernization of existing facilities, including post-harvest technologies.

This move is also intended to help create the basic conditions to guarantee a continuous supply of fruit and vegetables throughout the year. In both cases, the maximum amount of support that can be obtained will be HUF 2 billion (5.78 million Euro), instead of the previous HUF 500 million (1.44 million Euro).
