Turkmen greenhouse enterprise exports its first harvest to regional countries

Altyn Tug Individual Enterprise harvested its first tomato crop, over 800 tons of tomatoes, from its greenhouse complex and exported two thirds of the vegetables to Russia and Kyrgyz Republic.

The 12-hectare greenhouse complex, located in the Dashoguz Velayat’s S.A. Niyazov etrap in the northern Turkmenistan, was commissioned at the end of last year. The greenhouse is equipped with modern technologies that ensure year-round cultivation of vegetables and strawberries. The installed machinery also significantly minimizes operating costs, increases yield and, accordingly, the efficiency of the business project.

The greenhouse enterprise currently grows 12 varieties of tomatoes, 2 types of bell pepper and 3 types of strawberries. All the vegetables and fruits are tested and adapted to the conditions of the northern region of the country. The most persistent and productive varieties become the basis for the future crops. In addition to the products already sold, the plant expects to yield at least 1,600 tons of tomatoes in the first half of the year.
