The world's largest producers
China was the world's largest producer of cucumbers, with 56,240.43 million kilos, which is 77.76% of the total. In 2018, China devoted 1,044,161 hectares to the crop's cultivation, achieving a yield of 5.39 kg / m².
The second largest producer in 2018 was Iran, with 2,283.75 million kilos grown on 79,649 hectares and a yield of 2.87 kg / m².
Turkey ranked third, with 1,848.27 million kilos, 37,605 hectares and a yield of 4.91 kg / m².
The fourth place corresponded to Russia, with 1,604.35 million kilos, 42,830 hectares and a yield of 3.75 kg / m².
Mexico was fifth in the ranking, with 1,072.48 million kilos, 19,597 hectares and an average yield of 5.47 kg / m².
Spain ranked ninth, with a production totaling 643.66 million kilos cultivated on 7,507 hectares and an average yield of 8.57 kg / m².
Spain's competitors

The Dutch cucumber production in 2018 amounted to 410 million kilos grown on 563 hectares and a yield of 72.82 kg / m², according to FAO statistics.
