New building will not come to pass, due to investor withdrawal

Spreetaler Früchte GmbH insolvent

Nursery "Spreetaler Früchte LLC" in Spreewitz has filed for insolvency. Originally, the company wanted to grow vegetables in greenhouses on a 16-hectare site. According to the insolvency administrator, investments of up to 18 million euros were planned. After a well-known fruit and vegetable group withdrew as an investor, the company had to cease operations.

The insolvency proceedings are now examining whether projects can still be implemented and to what extent the investors are liable for partial amounts as a result of the unexpected withdrawal. Instead of vegetable and fruit cultivation, a battery factory is now being built on the originally planned site in the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park.
