Red Sun Farms Ontario

New Ontario partnership to build 27 acre greenhouse in Kingsville

Red Sun Farms Ontario LP is the new partnership between Jim DiMenna, of Red Sun Farms, and Jeremy Capussi, of JC Fresh.

This new company will be constructing its first 27 acres of high-tech greenhouses in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada.  Havecon, will be responsible for the construction of this new facility.

“This is an exciting time at Red Sun Farms as we embark upon this new partnership to meet the growing demands of our customers for quality, flavor and year-round availability,” states Red Sun Farms President, Jim DiMenna.

Headquartered in Kingsville, Ontario, Red Sun Farms is the largest vertically integrated North American Greenhouse grower, ensuring control over every step of the supply chain. Red Sun Farms owns greenhouses in Mexico, the USA, and Canada. By the end of the project, the company will have expanded its facilities to over 600 acres in North America.

Through this new partnership with Jeremy Capussi of JC Fresh, Red Sun Farms Ontario Inc will deliver the highest quality of high-tech greenhouse produce. Jeremy is a third-generation grower and has an additional greenhouse facility in Kingsville, Ontario.

Construction will start immediately
Havecon has been working closely with the partners for the past 6 months developing and finalizing the project. Construction will start immediately on this high-tech greenhouse with a targeted completion date of December 2020. Havecon will be building this new high tech greenhouse and packhouse, including the heating system, screening system, irrigation system, and the complete electrical and computer systems.

The 27 acres is the first phase of a three-phase project that will total 63.8 acres at completion.

Havecon, working in conjunction with Voorwinden and their trusted trades, is excited to return to the Leamington/Kingsville area and hopes that this is the first of many projects. “The reason that we chose to work with Havecon is their reputation for high quality and speed of construction. Havecon is a professional organization that we are proud to work with,” says Jeremy Capussi.
