The international trading company, Gottmann, has a new BBC Curo 12 blueberry packaging machine. They have had this device since the end of August. "We considered developments in recent years. We also took the constant demand into account. This comes from our clients as well as producers. We, therefore, decided to pack the blueberries ourselves. Instead of having it done at the source," explains Dennis Molenaar.
They placed this blueberry packaging machine at the Dutch transport company, Goes HC in De Meern, the Netherlands. "An entire floor has been converted. The blueberries are packaged there. With this, we want to respond to our clients' ever-changing needs," says the importer. "The aim is to offer this service for twelve months of the year. Starting with the Southern Hemisphere from August until April. Then from April/May, we will continue with European berries."
"The berries can be packed in different punnets and containers. These can boast the client's personal label. They can also use our new Pasion label. Clients can opt for punnets with or without lids. They also have the choice of top seal packaging or even completely without a covering. All the punnets and top seals are made from 100% recycled plastic", says Dennis.
"We expect substantial long-term growth. We will then also keep responding to our clients' demands and producers. We will add more machines," concludes Dennis.
