First avocados grown under an automated retractable roof greenhouse

Katrina and Tim Myers, from Barham Avocados, based in New South Wales, Australia, posted an updated video of their avocado trees, one year after the transplant. The avocados are grown inside a 6 meter-high retractable flat roof greenhouse of 0.5 hectares with a white fresh effect cover.

The goal is to increase performance and quality by optimizing the weather and protecting trees from frequent frost, high radiation, low humidity, and wind. The trees are growing rapidly, and the producers have already noticed a 20% reduction in water use compared to the trees grown outside.
