Recently a study was completed at Genson Quality Plants in St. Oedenrode into the production of three strawberry varieties on substrate with Green Fibre wood fiber in comparison with the use of traditional coco. The results show that the production of strawberries on both substrates is the same. The tests were conducted by, among others, the Gryson BerryNova research department.

Alternative for coco
The new substrate mixtures with GreenFibre for strawberries have been developed by Klasmann-Deilmann. They are sustainable and a very attractive economic alternative to coco. The applied GreenFibre is a raw material developed by Klasmann-Deilmann itself and produced in-house. It contains no silicon and is industrially produced, resulting in consistent quality.
Klasmann-Deilmann is a global supplier of organic substrates, raw materials and Growcoon plugs. The company has its own certified peat farms and modern production locations for alternative raw materials. All substrates are produced in accordance with the guidelines of the RHP, the world's strictest quality standards for the substrate industry.
