A new greenhouse complex for growing tomatoes will soon be opened in Ekibastuz. It will be the third greenhouse constructed next to Ekibastuz regional power station. The station provides the energy-intensive production with cheap warmth and electricity.
The project is constructed in accordance with Dutch technology. The greenhouse will cover an acreage of 50 ha, 10 of which will be launched this year. The complex presupposes the construction of a nursery too.
The produce will largely be exported to the Siberian regions of the Russian Federation. According to the management of the greenhouse complex, the new production facility will allow for the local market to be filled with tomatoes.
“According to the plan we are finalizing the nursery in the first part of August”, reports Zhangeldy Abylgazin, the technical director of a subcontractor company. “In a month the greenhouse should be ready for planting. The greenhouse is constructed in accordance with the Dutch technology, the equipment has been purchased from the Netherlands and the project has been worked out there too. It is not the first of this type of project in Ekidastuz. Supervision and construction control are carried out by Dutch specialists too.
