Turkey: 100 greenhouses to be established in Ulukoy, Erzincan

Erzincan governor Ali Arslantas informed the press that 100 greenhouses will be built in the Ulukoy district, which is the center of vegetable production in Erzincani, a city located in northeastern Turkey.

Meeting with growers in the area, the governor added that each greenhouse will be 0.2 hectares, and 50% of each greenhouse’s costs will be covered by the state, while the rest will be financed by the growers themselves.

Governor Ali Arslantas: “We have been planning this for a while. Our goal is to build 100 greenhouses. We, as the state, will cover 50% of the expenses whilst growers will pay the rest themselves. We have also reached a deal with the state bank Ziraat Bank, so growers can also receive low-credit loans from the bank to finance their greenhouses. The repayments of the loan will start 2 years later and will be repaid in 7 years at an interest of 8%.”
