New Vvibes varieties at Fruit Logistica 2019

"The marketing and communication activities are our priority because 'knowing how to operate without letting others know' might nullify the excellent work that our company has been successfully carrying out in this specific sector for the past years" says Saverio Pintaudi, Commercial Director of Vvibes, interviewed by FreshPlaza in occasion of "Fruit Logistica 2019".

"For the first time, thanks to the excellent international showcase held in Berlin, we have been able to provide great exposure to our flagship products," says Pintaudi. "Our team has done a great job in preparing and welcoming international guests, providing information on some of our products such as the midi plum 10003 F1, the 2026 F1 and the 2095 F1 cherry tomato varieties, our courgette novelties (dark green, white and striped) and coloured tomatoes."

"Together with my colleagues, we showcased our top products such as the Valentino F1 cherry tomato variety, the Placido F1 midi-plum and the F1 Selvaggio tomato rootstock", says Daniele Reina, Sicily sales manager.

"Through our participation in Berlin and our constant presence on FreshPlaza, we have been able to make contact with many different European and international partners. Intrigued by our work, they wanted to meet us and 'touch with their hands' our varietal selection, thus helping us to achieve further developments", says Daniele Reina.

According to the company, the variety of products proposed much aroused the visitors' curiosity, especially our 10003 F1 midi plum.

"The 10003 F1 midi plum is a tomato of approximately 35 grams. This well-balanced plant is structured in such a way that allows it to be sufficiently ventilated. This variety can easily face extreme winter conditions. The is good looking and compact, with a very thick and fleshy stem. The ripening is uniform with bright red berries " explains Emanuele Marino, Vvibes crop specialist.

"This variety is extremely resistant (HR: Va: 0 / Vd: 0; ToMV 0 2; Fol 0 1. IR: Ne; TYLCV), especially during the post-harvest phase. Further, even though this period has been characterised by a high humidity and constant temperature changes, this variety did not experience any cracking issues".

Due to its particular shape and length, the 10003 F1 midi plum variety can be packaged as single-layer or double-layer bundles, in pans of 30cmx40cm. This aspect is especially appreciated from a marketing standpoint.
