Industrial IoT is decisively moving from a possibility to a necessity. Pioneering businesses are bringing the capabilities of the Internet to physical infrastructure and equipment to enable new insights, efficiencies, and business models. As the technology matures we must move from asking “what if?” to “what next?”
On October 22, Industrial Internet Innovation China brought together IoT technology leaders with forward-thinking end users from engineering, manufacturing and logistics sectors, as well as government officials who are guiding the Industrial IoT revolution in China. The summit discussed the application of the Internet of Things in industrial design, production and management, as well as other relevant topics such as data security, impact on innovation processes, and digitalization of businesses.
IoT also plays an important role in the development of advanced horticulture. Fulco Wijdooge, General Manager of Ridder China, was invited to provide the industrial internet professionals more insight about the opportunities and challenges of IoT deployment in data driven horticulture. His presentation was part of a summit program, with attendees including representatives and speakers from companies like Bosch, IBM, GE, Intel, SANY, Symantec, EPLAN, Philips, Thyssenkrupp and BYD.
