Russia: 60 ha greenhouse to be built in Leningrad region
A greenhouse for tomato growing with an acreage of 60 ha is going to be constructed in Pikalyovo, in the Leningrad region this year.
The project will have 3 stages, on every stage 20 ha of greenhouses will be built. The investor is planning to launch the first phase until 2021. The investments in the first phase will exceed 76 million euros. Within the project, 476 working places will be created.
The agreement on project development was signed at the International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg in 2017. The investments in the project are valuated at 265.5 million euros. A loan taken from the Rosselkhosbank will cover a part of expenses. The engineering infrastructure is planned to be carried out with the assistance of the foundation for the development of monocities.
“Greenhouse complex Pikalyovo is a key investor in the frame of the project on monocity economic diversification. After Pikalyovo has received the status of the territory of advanced social and economic development, the company have reconfirmed their plans. And now the project enters the active implementation stage”, remarked the deputy of the head of Leningrad region administration on economics and investments, Mr. Dmitriy Yalov.
