Russia: 10 hectare greenhouse complex opened in Stavropol
Greenhouse complex Andropovskiy, with a production capacity of up to 6 thousand tons of cucumbers per year, opened in the village of Solouno-Dmitrievsky in the Stavropol region (Russia). Investments have exceeded 21.7 million euros, the governor’s press service reports.
“The construction is an industrial greenhouse block with an overall acreage of over 10 ha. There's also a possibility to expand the project to 30 ha”, reads the press service report.
The opening of the new enterprise means another boost for greenhouse produce in Stavropol. “In 2018 we are planning to achieve a level of 100 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables a year, compared to 65 thousand last year”, said governor Vladimir Vladimirov at the opening ceremony.
The greenhouse complex will grow produce year-round with implementation of automatic energy saving technological processes. The enterprise has created around 180 working places. The project is the result of an agreement concluded between the administration of the region and the enterprise management at the agricultural exhibition in Moscow in 2015.
