The Russian KDV Group has opened a contemporary greenhouse complex in the Yashkin district of the Kemerovo region (Russia).
“LLS Yakushkin greenhouses is one of the biggest enterprises over the Ural Mountains that brings vegetable growing to a new higher level”, reports the company's press service.
The greenhouse complex has been built from scratch, with a total acreage of 9.8 ha. It took two years and over 38.5 million euros to complete the project.
LLS Yakushkin greenhouses is an independent enterprise with high-tech production. The complex is powered by a CHP installation that provide the greenhouses with heat and CO2.
Water for production purposes is taken from an on-premise well. A reverse osmosis system is used for water purification and maintaining the needed quality. There are two gathering ponds for rain water near the greenhouses too.
European technology
“The greenhouses were constructed on Dutch technology. The equipment that allows growing high-quality and delicious vegetables and greenery, preserving maximum of the useful substances has been brought from Finland and Germany”, says the general director Aleksey Rogov.
Greenery is grown in substrate in the new complex; they have borrowed the Finnish technology of flow hydroponic. The technology allows maximum automation of the growing process, enabling high quality produce.
"The microclimate is also automatically controlled. We set the required temperature, air humidity, watering temperature and CO2 air concentration most favourable for photosynthesis, as well as the intensity and length of lighting”, added Mr Boulanov.
Tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, and lettuce
At the moment, young plants have been planted (around 50 thousand) of tomatoes and cucumbers, each occupying two ha. Overall 4 ha are allocated for those two kinds of vegetables.
1 ha is allocated for growing young plants and greenery: lettuce, dill, basil, parsley and ruсola, these plants will soon be delivered to be sold. Chain stores Yarche will receive the first batch of lettuce. All the vegetables and greenery will be grown by Yashkin greenhouses year-round, exclusively for the supermarket chain.
The enterprise are planning to start producing at full capacity, with 7 thousand tons of fresh vegetables a year, by autumn of 2018.
