EU-Vietnam trade deal to remove tariffs on fruits and vegetables

If all goes according to plan the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) will be signed next year, says Vietnam Net. The trade deal is expected to benefit both sides, according to speakers at a workshop heard in Ho Chi Minh City on November 28th. Growers are counting on the agreement as tariffs on fresh vegetables and fruits will be removed immediately once signed. According to a study on the effect of the trade agreement, EU-MUTRAP found that EVFTA could lift exports to the EU to 42 billion USD by 2025 and 47 billion USD by 2030.
