Move and new director for Eurofins Agro

Mark van den Heuvel is the new director of Eurofins Agro in Wageningen. He succeeds Martin Vervoorn who led the company from 2012. Vervoorn will chase international growth within Eurofins Agro. This isn't the only change
for the company. The PlantDoctors and the Eurofins Agro Glastuinbouw Adviescentrum in the Westland will move from the demo nursery in Honselersdijk to the World Horti Center in Naaldwijk. The new name of this location is Eurofins Agro Horti Expert Center.

"Growers can go to the Horti Expert Center with any questions about plant food and plant health," Eurofins Agro says. "Our PlantDoctors help them there. They give a first diagnosis and if needed send the plant material to the specialised laboratory in Wageningen. The grower receives a report with a description of the problem plus advice tailored to the situation as soon as possible."

Change of direction
There is also a change of direction coming for the company as a whole. This fits into Eurofins Agro's strategy to both innovate operationally and grow internationally. The new director, Mark van den Heuvel, gained more than enough directing experience with Dutch production companies in an international setting. "I'm a builder who wants to take the beautiful location of Eurofins Agro in Wageningen to the next phase. My experience in streamlining production processes and applying LEAN principles will serve me well in this," according to Van den Heuval. "The customer will experience this in even better supply, reliability and modernising the provision of service."

Internationale growth
After a period of handover, Martin Vervoorn will focus on the international growth of Eurofins Agro. In Europe Eurofins Agro has market positions in Scandinavia, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France and the United Kingdom, among others. "There is still a world to be won," says Vervoorn. The knowledge and skill already coming from these countries to one company is an ideal basis to build on - including for the Dutch farmer and horticulturist. I expect the demand for data with directed advise to increase due to increasing scale size and increasingly strict product demands around food safety and environment. Eurofins Agro aims to support entrepreneurs in those developments. I believe it's a privilege to contribute to this from Wageningen - the heart of international agriculture."
