Beijing Kinpeng active all over the world:

Chinese greenhouse builder looks at increasing cooperation with the Dutch

Long gone are the days that the Dutch were dominating the international markets for greenhouse technology. Today you should not be surprised when you see a high tech Chinese greenhouse in the jungle of Angola or in the desert of Oman. In most occasions they will have been built by Beijing Kingpeng, a large government owned greenhouse builder from China.

Nonetheless, China KingPeng does not shy away from the Dutch. "The high tech greenhouse technology from the Dutch is one of the best in the world. We see them as a partner and not as competition and are eager to work together with them as much as possible", said Kingpeng Intl's deputy general manager Liang Qi.

According to Liang, the Chinese government's emphasis on the development of more domestic greenhouse agriculture provides a great foundation for such partnerships.

"Currently China has the intention to increase its domestic food production with the help of advanced agricultural technology and greenhouse farming is one of them. There is a shortage of arable land and more advanced glass and plastic greenhouses technologies are needed to increase the efficiency of the current solar greenhouse industry."

Chinese officials have visited Holland for many times to seek and establish cooperation and partnerships to take horticulture in China to the next level. "The government has made significant capital available for investment in greenhouse technology and it’s expected that this will be even more in the future."

As an example of cooperation between the Dutch and Chinese, Liang names the 7 hectare high tech greenhouse project of Hainan Runda. Here, Beijing China Kingpeng worked closely together with Dutch companies such as Visser, MetaZet/FormFlex and Ridder/HortiMaX. With the latter company, Kingpeng formed a strategic partnership for long-term cooperation recently. "We are eager to work together with companies such as HortiMax, their products are of such a high quality that it allows us to distinguish ourselves on the Chinese market.

Besides the Chinese market, Kingpeng is widely active in other countries across the globe. Over the last year for example, the company has commissioned an impressive amount of projects in countries like Iran, Angola, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Qatar and Oman. From high tech glass greenhouses for the production of hydroponic tomatoes, strawberries or young plant propagation to low cost solar greenhouses and even multi layer vertical farming containers with leds.

"We try to have a solution available for every kind of situation, climate, purpose and country", Liang proudly said. "Even though China is currently an important market, the export market is our future objective. We keep a close eye on developing economics that provide room for greenhouse development and precisely target those areas. We want to show the industry that we are here to stay as a serious partner."
