Wether or not as a result of the decision to organize the Horti Asia and Agri Technica Asia at the same time with VIV, the Horti Asia event is much improved in comparison with the previous edition in 2015. The addition of the hosted buyer program also brought a large selection of serious international investors to the show. With an estimated 50,000 visitors, the VIV without any doubt brings more traffic towards the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, but it is also the increased opportunity for horticultural development in South East Asia (Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia) that has generated interest for the trade show.
Vietnam
The current ongoing investments in Vietnam in particular are the talk of town. Greenhouse builders and suppliers speak of many private investments by Vietnamese companies taking advantage of the opportunities for safe local produce. Some of them in vertical farms and plant factories, but most in greenhouses and other protective structures. As Vietnamese farmers and investors by nature like they go out and travel, many of them have come to Bangkok to get acquainted with new technologies and supplies.
