November 22-24, Calgary

CAN (AB): Agricultural Excellence Conference gathers experts, stakeholders

The Agricultural Excellence Conference is set for November 22-24 in Calgary. It is a one-of-a-kind agricultural business management event that brings together a diverse cross-section of industry experts and stakeholders. “As a supporting partner, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) encourages all farm business managers to attend this great event,” says Rick Dehod, agriculture farm financial specialist with AF.

This year’s theme “Plan and Prosper: Set the Course for Farm Success” focuses on planning as an essential element to farm business management. Conference participants will explore beneficial farm management practices, advice, and insight with leading farm business thinkers.

Innovative aspects of the agenda include:
  • The Great Debate: Are we holding our farmers back?
  • Panel Discussion: Managing Risk in Agriculture – how can we confront change with confidence?
  • Bridging the Gap: Young at Heart Forum/Young Farmers’ Bear Pit.
  • National Farm Business Management Innovation Roundtable: Towards the Next Agricultural Policy Framework.
  • Farm Management Initiatives Showcase.
“This conference brings together farmers, advisors, academics, organizations, corporations, and government to discuss today’s hot topics related to managing Canada’s farms for success,” says Dehod. “Taking part in this conference is a proactive way of connecting with others in the industry, to ultimately help you to make sound management decisions for your own operation.”
