"Belgium: "Microbial balance in the substrate gives a higher yield"

Delgeco has successfully tested its concept on tomatoes for two consecutive years, providing a microbial balance in the substrate. The test with Delgeco’s concept is compared to an untreated plot. Last year, the performance of the tomatoes was 8% higher than those of the untreated plot. The results of this year are even better. They hope for a 10% increase.

Because of the very positive results, the area of tomatoes treated with Delgeco's concept was doubled. This result obviously has not gone unnoticed, and now the concept is also successfully applied to other hydrocultures such as pepper, cucumber and lettuce. According to Gybels: ”It is clear that all vegetables grown hydroponically benefit from a healthy bio balance in the substrate and around the root.”
