The World Cup was first held in the former production halls of Adr. van der Voort, in Kwintsheul. Between the matches, Dance Expression provided additional entertainment. The men of Batist Kassenbow dismantled the greenhouses in between the games and the teams sponsored by Van der Ende reached good positions.
Prior to the final, Lex van der Ende, marketing director of the main sponsor Van der Ende Group, from Maasdijk, handed a check to Aad Verduijn of Stichting de Zaaier worth € 30,000, which the foundation will invest this year in a microcredit project for small growers in Congo. Each year, proceeds from the World Cup Kassiebouwen go to this developmental aid organisation from Maasdijk.
Not only entrepreneurs and companies in the horticultural sector were present; many people from Westland massively attended this unique event.
