In the five climate chambers the growth and development of plants can be studied under very precisely defined conditions. Among others temperature, humidity and light levels can be accurately controlled, monitored and recorded.
Indirect water / glycol system
The refrigeration system is an indirect water / glycol cooling system with three industrial Bitzer piston compressors one of which is redundantly executed. By an ingenious air distribution system, the conditioned air is draft free introduced into the growth area. An energy-efficient ultrasonic humidification facilitates very precise control of the relative humidity in the climate chambers. The rooms can be separately humidified and dehumidified.Energy efficient lighting
The climate chambers are equipped with the highly energy efficient Philips D-Papillon Green Power Full spectrum lighting. Due to the energy efficiency, the lighting produces less heat. The Nijssen operating system provides complete control of the light intensity. Assimilation schedules can be fully adjusted.Energy saving scheme
The in-house control software, the Nijssen Climatemaster© system, provides maximum control and monitoring of all essential and critical processes. The Nijssen Power Saving© (NPS©) module achieves energy savings of around 15% and improved air humidity management, by constantly optimising the working conditions of the refrigerant system.More information:
