4200 Gavita GAN 1000W luminaires for Dutch tomato grower Luc Beirinckx

A lot of construction went on in the past two years at Luc Beirinckx in Noorderwijk, mostly in renovating the tomato nursery. The oldest part of the greenhouses was demolished, to be renewed and extended to about 4.2 hectares, bringing the overall production area to about 6.2 hectares. In the newest addition, a new assimilation lighting system was installed, allowing Beirinckx to keep up year round production in future years.

For years, Beirinckx grew its tomatoes without growth light. As part of a further expansion and professionalization, the company opted for the 1000W Gavita luminaire. In September, 4200 units of GAN 1000 Watt fixtures were installed with a light level of 185 ĩmol. The Gavita fixture is among the smallest fixtures of its kind, limiting natural light loss. The fixture is equipped with a high efficiency reflector for maximum reflection of the light. This reflector also provides deep penetration of light into the crop.
