UK: Cambridge HOK handovers new glasshouse for Oaklands College

Recently Cambridge HOK constructed a new glasshouse for Oaklands College,a large general further education college in the UK.The college provides hands on agriculture training and the new glasshouse will facilitate parts of this training. CambridgeHOK were responsible for full turnkey design and construction of the glasshouse. According to Cambridge HOK, from site setup to handover the project took only 4 weeks.



The structure is steel with an aluminium glazing system. The walls are glazed, while the roof is clad in 10mm double wall polycarbonate. Both materials can be incorporated in the CambridgeHOK glazing system along with many other options. Its finished dimensions are 6.8m wide by 20.3m long and it incorporates manual ventilation on either side of the glasshouse roof.
