Information resources offered for food safety on flooded farms

Recent flooding in Colorado has inspired renewed interest in information on how crop producers should handle crops from ground that has been flooded. Several print and online resources are available. Food Safety for Flooded Farms is a two-page fact sheet compiled by the Produce Safety Alliance. Produce Safety and Flooded Fields was released by The Ohio State University Extension in 2012. There is also a fact sheet available from University of Vermont Extension, titled Managing Flood Damaged Crops and Forage from Tropical Storm Irene.
