In a scenery which would be more suitable for long walks looking for mushrooms and small fruits, Adriano Carrara, with the help of Paolo Ispano, a ZSeeds technician, uses his experience on organic productions in the valleys of the Pre-Apls near Bergamo. Products are sold directly on site or at the shop in Val Serina, and they attract a lot of visitors and holiday-makers looking for authentic flavours.
ZSeeds managers mention that, "we have assisted the production of numerous vegetables (in greenhouses/tunnels/nets and open fields) which, thanks to the ideal soil and climate conditions, temperature changes and to the fact that pesticides are not used, have a high quality and great organoleptic characteristics. They have colours and flavours that only mountain produce can have, not to mention that they don't over-ripen and they have a long shelf-life."
We were able to take a look at the whole range of tomatoes, courgettes, melons, lettuce, peppers and cucumbers. The produce is grown between May and October, a period where it is still possible to produce naturally, especially thanks to technical support and to ZSeeds products, a company able to grasp the trend of the market.
"What generally strikes people is the dimension of the plots, as the produce is not only destined to a niche local market, but it can actually play a substantial role on the surrounding territory, thanks to a circuit that can promote the organoleptic qualities and the continuity of the supply. A successful bond between artisan passion and a good quality/quantity."
ZSeeds Italia and Adriano Carrara will define a new programme for the next season. The company will experiment with new products that have been specifically studied for the organic sector from an agronomic and commercial point of view. A sector that is expanding thanks to the interest of consumers, who are generally more aware when they choose final products.
